Enjoy cycling on high standard aluminium Dutch Gazelle hybrid bikes. They are available in different sizes and therefore suitable for body lengths varying from 1.50 to 2.05m (4′ 11″ - 6′ 9″). The bikes are equipped with 24 gears, rear rack, panniers, bottle cage, lock and repair kit, pump and a spare inner tube.

We prepared several routes for you, whether you want to enjoy a leisurely ride around the historic centre, want to visit the megalithic monuments or just want to enjoy the beautiful scenery.

The route we especially prepared brings you to the Convento do Espinheiro and along the Caminho da Missa to the capela do Senhor dos Aflitos. On the way back you follow the Água de Prata aqueduct back to city. The outskirts north of Evora are splattered with rural neighbourhoods, small hamlets and little estates benefitting the rich soil and abundancy of water.

Megalithic Monuments

Human occupation of the Alentejo goes back to the Stone Age. Still a lot of monuments can be found in this region. This tour will lead you among the more emblematic ones like one of the biggest dolmen, the Anta do Zambujeiro and our version of the Stone Henge, the Cromeleque e Menir dos Almendres. Along the way you can savour the beautiful Alentejo scenery: endless views of the gentle slopes decorated with cork oaks, olive trees and vineyards.

Wine Route

Wine Route

This tour will let you enjoy the Alentejo landscape. Next to the montados, pastoral management, you will see some of the vineyards giving fruit to the Alentejo wine. On the way back the aqueduct will accompany you to Evora. When booked in advance, it is possible to visit the winehouses Adega das Cortiçadas and Adega da Cartuxa along the way.

Ecopista

Ecopista

This itinerary covers the area north of Evora all the way to Arraiolos, well known for its tapestry. In a slightly undulating scenery you'll be cycling on low traffic roads and the ecopista, the former railway track turned into a walking / cycling path. Alternating under ground and lying on the grass, the aqueduct accompanies you back to the World Heritage of Evora.
